Join us for a rejuvenating 4 day retreat this summer in the beautiful setting of Nøsen Fjellhotel. With the transformative practices of mindfulness, compassion, and therapeutic yoga we learn to quiet the mind, open the heart, and heal the body; coming home to the peace of our authentic self.
Therapeutic yoga draws from many different styles of yoga to meet the individual where they are at in their physical and mental state, and restore balance to the whole system. We will be exploring a more gentle and mindful approach to yoga postures and movement that can be practiced by everyone. The emphasis will be the release of stress and tensions, while developing a more compassionate approach to our bodies, our challenges, and difficult emotions.
Mindfulness has become popular in our stressful modern times because of its documented benefits to improve well-being and its many therapeutic uses like reducing stress, anxiety, depression, and managing chronic pain or emotional reactivity. Mindfulness practice fosters present-moment awareness, helping us to become more focused, calm and resilient, so we can make wiser choices in our everyday life. Compassion and loving-kindness practices complement the mental training of mindfulness by working with attitudes that open the heart in an unconditional way, resulting in greater happiness and profound healing.
This retreat is especially suited for those looking to experience a quieter, more meditative form of yoga practice and to explore the healing potential of yoga and mindfulness.
Part of the retreat will be held in silence, to deepen the experience of self-reflection. No previous yoga or meditation experience required. Teaching is in English.
