These five days are for those who want to go deeper into your yoga practice and feel the experience of joy, strength and freedom in body and mind. Come and learn some solid routines that will give you support, power and a little extra focus in everyday life.

This is a unique opportunity to study with Alexander Medin who has years of experience in practicing, studying and teaching. He will help you develop solid self-practices and routines that reinforce your everyday life on many levels (see schedule below). He will also focus on what classical yoga is and how it has evolved in different directions in our modern world. We will look at styles and techniques, explore what they have in common and how they interpret yoga in different ways. By focusing on the basic principles and the connection between the techniques and exercises offered, we hope to be able to shed some light on what yoga is and how we can better integrate it on a personal level.

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced students. The class will be divided into two groups according to their experience and knowledge. There will be a led class and a Mysore class each morning. The days begin with early morning meditation / Japa, followed by a yoga practice, breathing exercises, technique, study and introduction to classical yoga texts. Before dinner, the days end with a light yoga practice, philosophy and breathing exercises or a technique class where we focus on how to learn to master the positions.

Between classes you can relax in front of the fireplace or enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. There are great ski slopes with panoramic views and you just have to put on the skis right outside of hotel door. If you want to go downhill skiing, it is 10 min to Vaset and 39 min to Hemsedal.

Nøsen is situated in magnificent undisturbed natural surroundings and there is plenty of time each day to go hiking/skiing, enjoy the silence, or study.

We serve delicious vegetarian food and three meals per day are included in the price together with accommodation in a twin room. If you want a single room, there is a small addition to the price.

This course is well suited for those who seek a deeper understanding of yoga and want to develop own practice and maintain true peace of mind and well-being.

About the teacher

Alexander Medin has been teaching yoga for over 22 years. He was certified by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois In 2002, an award only obtained by 33 people. He holds an MA in Sanskrit and Indian Religions and has had the privilege of traveling the world to teach yoga. Alexander is the founder of the foundation "Yoga for Life", which has been responsible for the two projects "Back in Ring" and "Gangster Yoga". In 2015, Alexander took over Nøsen, which he later transformed into a beautiful Yoga Retreat Center and Mountain Hotel.
