This is a unique opportunity to study deeply the classical sources of Ashtanga Yoga according to Patanjali and the devotional text Uddhava Gita. The prior text is known to be the source of Classical Yoga and the former is a beautiful text on devotion, spirituality and how to embody the ultimate consciousness in the body. 

Nøsen is situated in magnificent undisturbed natural surroundings and there will be plenty of time each day to go hiking, enjoy the tranquility, bathe in mountain lakes, cycle, paddle or just lie in the grass to relax.

Vijaya Kumar Manja

Vijaya Kumar Manja grew up in a traditional Brahmin family. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Yoga Therapy and has 15 years of traditional Sanskrit studies. He was educated in  Sringeri Mutt and the Sanskrit College in Mysore. Vijaya holds two Vidvat degrees in both Nyaya and Vedanta and became Indian champion in debate on the Sankhya and Yoga philosophy. He runs his own traditional Gurkulam www.yogagurukula.in  in his native Pandeshwara, a village in southern India. Vijaya is a respected lecturer in India and people come from all over the world to study with him in his Gurukulam.




Alexander Medin

Alexander Medin has been teaching Ashtanga yoga for 22 years. He was Certified by the legendary Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 2002, a distinction only given to 33 people. He has a MA in Sanskrit and Indian Religions and has had the privilege to travel the world and teach yoga in numerous places.

Alexander is the founder of the association "Yoga for Livet" ("Yoga for Life"), which has been responsible for the two projects "Back in Ring" and "Gangster Yoga".

In 2015, Alexander took over Nøsen and has since transformed it into a beautiful Yoga Retreat Center.
