In this week-long training retreat, we will immerse in a mindful and compassionate approach to yoga practice. This is both an educational retreat in applied Mindful yoga as well as a time for personal development and transformation. Mindful yoga is inspired by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, bridging Western science and psychology with the ancient traditions of Buddhist yoga and Hatha yoga, offering a therapeutic approach to yoga asana. Using modern research, we can document the beneficial effects of attention training and loving-kindness techniques in working with common psychological and emotional disorders, as well as in developing positive mental states and the interruption of negative habits.

For teachers, this is an opportunity to get hands-on knowledge about how to integrate and teach mindfulness and compassion into yoga practice. For those on a personal path of yoga or mindfulness, it is an opportunity to experience the benefits of a week-long immersion in mindfulness, compassion, and yoga, while learning tools for greater transformation towards inner peace and well-being.

This retreat is open to anyone interested, and is of special interest for yoga teachers and MBSR/mindfulness instructors.  It can count as the second module of the 100 hr training program in Mindful yoga through Oslo Yoga, and represents 50 hrs of teaching time. In this week-long retreat we will be emphasizing the practical application of the theory that is explored in the first module. Module 1 and module 2 can be taken in any order, or independently.
