This week is for you who want to go deeper into your yoga practice, get an introduction to classical yoga philosophy, and learn breathing exercises that cleanse the mind. The days begin with an early morning meditation (Japa), followed by physical practice, breathing exercises, technique, studies, and introduction to classical yoga texts. Before dinner, the days end with a light yoga practice, technique, and breathing exercises that support peace of mind and well-being.
The participants will be divided into two groups in the morning. One will do Mysore Style practice and the other will be guided through the sequence, breathing, and the execution of movements. All other classes will be held together.
Practical philosophy this week will be on the basic principles of Yoga and Vedanta. We will look at classical texts such as Yoga Sutras, Brahma Sutras, Upanishads, and Bhagavad Gita. You will get an introduction to basic principles, similarities, and differences between the two schools. We will later put these together in a system and it will become clear how Classical Yoga and Vedanta have been instrumental in the development of all religions and philosophical directions in India. This will make it easier to understand the modern development of Yoga in a larger context.
Nøsen is located in magnificent undisturbed natural surroundings and there is plenty of time every day to go skiing, hiking, or just enjoying the silence. For those who want to drive Alpine skiing, Vaset is 10 minutes away and Hemsedal 45 minutes away.
We serve delicious vegetarian three meals per day are included in the price along with accommodation. If you want a single room, a small supplement is added to the price.
