Cultivating inner freedom with movement & meditation
Being still and entering a state of calm awareness can seem like a hard thing to do in our fast-paced society. Our daily lives are often clogged with future plans and past events and while running from one point in time to another, and sometimes we don't allow ourselves to be still and process the things we actually experience. Over time, this creates a lot of tension in our nervous system which can lead to anxiety, depression and a variety of stress-related sicknesses.
I welcome you this weekend to explore what it means to live in our energy and tune in to our inner world through the ancient movement and meditation practices of Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
“The Listening Body” is an invitation to go deeper into our subtle awareness of ourselves.
With a varitey of practices we will try to re-relate to our bodies and the energies within and tap into the essence of what is already there. Through awareness of the body and mind, we can find tools which support us to feel more at ease and present.
We explore fundamentals of these ancient practices to awaken, empower, and integrate three important energy centers (similar to Chakras) that regulate your whole system. When the body is in balance, you transform your energy and improve your relationships and the quality of your life.
Qi Gong means Energy Cultivation. It’s an ancient practice which can be referred to as “Chinese Yoga” which is based on exercises, visualizations and meditations that has been practiced for thousands of years to balance the body, mind and spirit. It’s a practice that is used in Chinese Medicine and keeps being researched on for its healing benefits also within hospitals. With Qi Gong, we do not only move the body for strength and mobility, but also cultivate the mind in its focus and imagination.
Tai Chi – The integration of Yin & Yang
Through the practice of Tai Chi we learn to enter a sense of “Flow state”. As most of us are familiar with the symbol of Yin & Yang, Tai Chi is a physical movement and martial art practice that focuses on balancing these two energies. Just as night can’t live without day, or light can’t exist without darkness, we learn to live in the polarity of life by embodying the practice of dancing between opposites. With slow, graceful circular movements Tai Chi allows us to find ease and tranquility. It has been shown to heal many imbalances of the body due to its calming effects.
This weekend is about exploring the essence of these practices and see how they can support our daily lives. With the emphasis on QI (energy) awareness, we look at how we can empower ourselves.
What most of us wish for is to lift our spirits, open our hearts, and feel excited, finding purpose in the lives that we are in. No matter the circumstances we also wish to be able to live our lives with a calm mind and healthy body.
I want to help you awaken that joy by opening your energy flow and tapping into your deeper, hidden reservoirs of love, wisdom, and vitality.
There will be lots of time for stillness, contemplation and sharing experiences.
Everyone’s welcome! – no experience required
